Housing Research Matters! Distinguished Speaker Series - Mario Fortin, Université de Sherbrooke
After having been a visiting professor at the University of Western Ontario in 1987/1988, he joined the Department of Economics of the Université de Sherbrooke in 1988. Having become a full professor in 2000, he is currently the Vice-Dean for Research of the Faculty of Administration. He previously held various administrative functions, including Director of the Economics Department from 2003 to 2006 and Treasurer of the Syndicat des professeures et professeurs de l'Université de Sherbrooke, the university's faculty union, from 2007 to 2010. He has also been active on several university committees and has sat on the administrative boards of several external organizations.
His research and publications are mainly related to various aspects of the housing market and mortgage credit, as well as the development of performance measures for financial institutions. He has also authored several specialized studies for public and private organizations
